After a rough time at Old Trafford, Man United’s £47 million keeper, André Onana, is heading to Turkey. He’s going to Trabzonspor on loan for the season. Since joining in 2023, the Cameroon goalie had trouble playing consistently and made some pretty big mistakes. The new manager, Ruben Amorim, didn’t think he was important to what he wanted to do.
Trabzonspor doesn’t have to pay a loan fee, but they will pay Onana’s full salary of £120,000 a week, plus bonuses if he plays well. Now that Onana’s gone, Senne Lammens, a young Belgian keeper who looks like he has potential, will probably compete for the starting spot. United fans online seem relieved but are also making fun of the situation, showing how much the club is changing things up under Amorim.
