World Cup 2026: Shakira Returns With Burna Boy For Official Song Performance

Shakira and Burna Boy are about to light up the world stage together. The Colombian pop queen and Nigerian Afrobeats king will perform the official 2026 World Cup song at the opening ceremony in Mexico City on June 11.

They’ll take the Estadio Azteca stage right before Mexico faces South Africa in the tournament opener. The song is called _Dai Dai_ — Italian for “let’s go” or “come on” — and FIFA says it’s all about how football brings people together across cultures.

FIFA told BBC Sport the track captures “the energy, passion and global spirit of the World Cup.” And they didn’t stop there. J Balvin and South Africa’s Tyla will also perform at the Mexico show.

There’s more: Canada’s opener gets Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette, while Katy Perry and Future will handle the US kickoff in LA.

For Shakira, this is home turf. She gave us _Waka Waka_ in 2010 and _La La_ in 2014. Now she’s back, and she’s not done — she’ll also co-headline the first-ever World Cup final halftime show on July 19 alongside Madonna and BTS.
