Ude Chukwu, former Deputy Governor of Abia State under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has defected to the Labour Party (LP) alongside the PDP LGA chairman, Egesi Eze Azu. Chukwu made the declaration at his country home in Nkoro, Ohafia Local Government Area, stating that it marks the beginning of a new political era for him and his constituents.
The former deputy governor praised Governor Alex Otti’s leadership style, describing him as a principled leader who treats governance as a personal mission. Chukwu also commended Otti’s efforts in transforming Abia State, saying, “Today, we can proudly say we are Abians.”
Governor Otti welcomed Chukwu into the Labour Party, praising his decision and describing him as a principled leader who will give people their due respect. The governor assured that ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Nkporo road, would be of the same standard as those in Aba and Umuahia.
