Arsenal have swooped in to sign Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze, hijacking Tottenham Hotspur’s move for the 27-year-old. The Gunners will pay £60m guaranteed plus £7.5m in add-ons, with personal terms close to being finalized. Eze’s medical could take place as soon as Friday.
The deal was reignited after an injury to Kai Havertz, and Arsenal’s interest in Eze dates back to June. Spurs had previously felt they had an agreement in place, but Arsenal’s renewed interest led to a successful bid.
Eze is expected to feature in Palace’s Conference League game on Thursday and wants to bid farewell to the fans. With two years left on his contract, the forward’s move to the Emirates is all but confirmed.
