Family, friends, and colleagues are mourning the sudden passing of 26-year-old lawyer Sarah Araba Tettey, who reportedly died after suffering a cardiac arrest while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama during the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves across Ghana’s legal community, particularly among former classmates, colleagues, and members of the legal profession who knew her as a promising young practitioner.
Incident Occurred During Match Celebration
According to reports, Tettey was watching Ghana’s World Cup match with friends at Standard Hostel, a private hostel facility located in Bomso near Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.
Witnesses said celebrations were underway following Ghana’s victory when she suddenly collapsed.
Friends and other bystanders reportedly acted quickly, rushing her to the KNUST Hospital, popularly known as Tech Hospital, for emergency medical attention.
Doctors’ Efforts Prove Unsuccessful
Medical personnel at the hospital reportedly carried out extensive resuscitation efforts in an attempt to save her life.
Sources indicated that doctors and nurses performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for approximately 45 minutes after she was brought to the facility.
