Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has taken on a bold Guinness World Record challenge — cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice. The massive event took place at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, drawing huge crowds and celebrities like Funke Akindele.
Baci originally set out to cook 250 bags of rice in a custom-made, 22,619-litre pot that spanned six meters in width. However, a crane mishap during the weighing process caused the pot to collapse. Undeterred, she completed the cook with 200 bags of rice instead.
The impressive feat was part of the Gino World Jollof Festival and was live-streamed for fans around the world, showcasing a moment of culinary history and Nigerian pride.
