The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially commenced the 2025 Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. This initiative is designed to update Nigeria’s voter register and issue Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible citizens ahead of future elections.
According to the announcement by the Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the ALGON Chairman Abia State and Mayor Isuikwuato LGA, Mr. Chimaobi Ben Okorie, the CVR exercise targets:
1. New voters aged 18 years and above.
2. Citizens who have changed personal details, such as marital status or residence.
3. Young people who turned 18 years after 2023 and are now eligible to vote.
4. Registered voters seeking to replace lost or damaged PVCs.
In Isuikwuato Local Government, eligible citizens are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to register or update their voter details.
How to Register
• Online Pre-Registration: Started on August 18, 2025, via www.cvr.inecnigeria.org. Available 24/7.
• In-Person Registration: Begins August 25, 2025, at the Isuikwuato Local Government Council, from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm daily, Tuesday to Friday.
INEC has cautioned that multiple registrations are prohibited, warning that offenders risk being completely removed from the voter register.
By participating in the CVR exercise, citizens can ensure their voices are heard in upcoming elections and play a key role in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process.
Eligible voters in Isuikwuato are therefore encouraged to make use of this opportunity and comply with INEC’s guidelines.
For enquiries, citizens can contact the INEC CVR WhatsApp support via 08055559995.
