The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has signed an operational agreement with the Enugu State Government to activate the NCC Digital Industrial Park and NCC Learning Centre, strengthening efforts to expand Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystem.
The agreement was witnessed by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, alongside members of the Commission’s Board and Management during an official visit to Enugu State.
The partnership is expected to accelerate the full operation of the Digital Industrial Park and Learning Centre, creating opportunities for innovation, digital entrepreneurship, skills development and technology-driven economic growth within Enugu State and across Nigeria.
During the visit, the NCC delegation also toured the Enugu Smart School Initiative, where digital technologies are being integrated into teaching and learning to equip students with practical skills for the digital economy.
The visit enabled the Commission to assess ongoing technology-enabled education initiatives aimed at preparing young Nigerians for future careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and other digital fields.
According to the NCC, the collaboration aligns with its broader commitment to promoting digital inclusion, fostering innovation and developing the skilled workforce needed to drive Nigeria’s digital transformation.
The initiative is expected to enhance access to technology infrastructure, support startups and entrepreneurs, and contribute to building a more digitally competitive economy.
