TechFlock ’26 Set to Unite Africa’s Innovators in Umuahia with Focus on ‘The Intelligent Future’

The city of Umuahia is set to host one of South-East Nigeria’s biggest technology gatherings as TechFlock ’26, the flagship annual conference organised by Abia Tech Hub, returns for its seventh edition on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

The conference, themed “The Intelligent Future,” will take place at the Arco Event Centre (ShopRite), Abia Mall, Umuahia, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, software developers, startup founders, investors, policymakers, students and technology enthusiasts to explore how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are shaping the future.

Now in its seventh year, TechFlock has grown into one of the region’s leading technology events, providing a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, collaboration and innovation across Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem.

This year’s theme reflects the growing influence of artificial intelligence across industries, with discussions expected to examine how intelligent technologies are transforming businesses, governance, education, healthcare, finance, manufacturing and everyday life.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experienced industry leaders, emerging innovators and ecosystem builders through keynote sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities and interactive conversations focused on the future of technology in Africa.

Beyond the conversations, the conference is expected to provide valuable opportunities for startups to showcase innovative solutions, connect with investors and explore partnerships capable of accelerating business growth.

The event also aims to inspire young people pursuing careers in technology by exposing them to emerging trends, practical insights and real-world opportunities within Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.

The conference comes at a time when Abia State is increasingly positioning itself as a destination for technology-driven development through initiatives that promote digital skills, entrepreneurship and innovation.

In recent months, the state has expanded investments in digital capacity-building programmes, startup development and youth empowerment, creating an enabling environment for the growth of a knowledge-based economy.

TechFlock ’26 is expected to further strengthen that vision by fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors while encouraging innovation capable of addressing local and global challenges.

With artificial intelligence rapidly becoming one of the defining technologies of the decade, organisers say the conference will challenge participants to rethink how intelligent systems can be harnessed responsibly to drive economic growth, improve productivity and create sustainable opportunities for Africa’s next generation.

As anticipation builds ahead of August 8, TechFlock ’26 is expected to attract participants from across Nigeria and beyond, reinforcing Abia State’s growing reputation as an emerging hub for technology, innovation and digital transformation.
